About Culver's

Culver's is a Midwest fast-food chain best known for the ButterBurger, Wisconsin cheese curds, and fresh frozen custard. Craig and Lea Culver opened the first one in 1984 in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, which is still home base. The chain has grown to about 1,000 restaurants, mostly across the Midwest and South. Burgers are cooked to order, and the daily Flavor of the Day custard is a big draw. You can order in the dining room, at the drive-thru, or through the Culver's app.

Expect cooked-to-order timing rather than instant fast food; burgers come off the grill when you order. The ButterBurger line runs $4.59 to $8.79, Value Baskets bundle a side and drink for $10.69 to $12.69, and the custard case changes daily with the Flavor of the Day. Cheese curds are the must-try side. To see how the chain stacks up against its closest custard rival, read Culver's vs Dairy Queen.
